Ok then the only way to get an RH reading with a protimeter is to drill a hole in the concrete and plug a pobe into it or plug a probe in a yellow box that's sealed to the floor ! Did he do this or just put the meter it's self on the floor an do a quick scan ? If he did the later did it make a beeping noise ?
He didn't drill a hole, but tested in the existing hole next to the radiator. The device displayed a few green lights on it's scale, there was no beeping.
I know but it gives a WME reading for concrete. Maybe he did that? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Right You havent had a proper test done and you definitely can't get an RH reading by waving a protimeter next to hole You need to find someone with the right equipment who actually knows how to use it and not some idoit pretending to know what he's doing !! Where are you someone from this forum may be able to help ?
what was the wood battens reading 15% on protimeter? If so thats high. But would expect much higher as you had water on floor. As pointed out above. You can not do a scan or pin test on concrete and get a accurate reading. If pins was used , this is for wood only. You also have a solid wood floor (or did have) which looks like Junkers etc with a engineered installed over the top by floating on underlay. This will cause sweating. But a puddle of water is a bit more than sweating. If i was on site im sure i would be able to tell you within 30 seconds whats going on. I must question who these professionals are that are stumped.
I suspect he used the Protimeter that is for wood in which you push the two probes into the wood to get a reading. I have seen this mistake made before by a "professional" who insisted he was right. I would have agreed with him but then we would both have been wrong!! If you want to use an electrical tester for concrete then I suggest using a Tramex.
You can get the long prongs that plug into that survey master which you stick into holes drilled in concrete to get a reading but it's not in rh just green amber and red
What type of underlay is that? It looks like it could be a combi one with a built in vapour barrier. Can you feel any heat from the pipes in the area that was affected? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
a protimeter is not used to test rh readings in concrete.it is used for moisture levels in wood. you need to use a hygrometer or a tramex concrete meter.
