    Hey,

Having never done a border before I’ve had some great advice previously on here. Looking to set up and trying to decide on single or double border. I’m tempted to go with double given that I can run over quite a few door openings without having to return and go round the door frames with the border (if I did a single border). Any reason why i shouldn't do this?

Laid both out and can’t decide as both look great, but think of double is easier I’ll go for that. Any tips appreciated.

Also, if anyone has any photos of the detail where the border hits the door threshold and goes around allowing the small parquet to flow into the rooms. I can't seem to find any on google. I'm not planning to mitre the borders, just use block (i think that's what its called)

    Thanks

Other option is to do a single border but I’d have to follow the ins and outs more.

I personally hate double borders but do quite a few of them, just hate the way the header joins on the tiles arnt evenly spaced all the way round

I'm same as you mate, prefer the single if any. Double can fall busy on half of the corners even if you try and even them out or shorten a few down

If going for a single border I’m presuming it just follows the in’s and outs of all door thresholds etc, like the example sketch? [IMG]

We tend to block the doorways out

Not related to my previous border question, but after getting in a nice straight crown row, what’s the best / easiest way to begin laying the larger portions of the room? Is there a rule? Continue up doing lines like the crown row, or go outwards? - cheers

I prefer 'up and down' but know some that go few rows wide

You have to be careful it doesn't run out when doing it say 3/4 rows wide if your not used to fitting it, can end up quite gappy.

Just make sure your first starting row is bang on and keep to the line else you'll be fighting with it by time you get half way through

I figured up and down must be best practice. Problem is the F48+ seems to be going off really quickly. Maybe I need to be quicker!

Only spread as far as you can keep up
