I have a quick question about laying laminate flooring in my bedroom. Room is approx 18m length by 6m width. As sketch I am starting on top corner (arrow in blue) The question I have is when I get to the last strip the last wall is of two different sizes (marked in red). How can I ensure that the last pieces of laminate I install will be wide enough? (I believe they should be stalesst half width of a laminate panel) obviously If I get ome wall correct the other will more than likely be off? Confused !
You need to measure the width of the planks and divide the size into the room so you get the correct balance. Also 18meter is a very large area. Really laminates should not be installed without a additional expansion strip every 10 meters. Obviously this is not a option in a bedroom. If you do install in one go you will need double expansion on the length. The expansion required is 27mm. Skirting boards or beading will not cover this so you will need both skirts installed on top and beading. Also the laminate might become structually unstable which is another reason it should be capped at maximum of 10meter runs. Are you sure laminate is the best choice for the area? you might be better installing LVT ?
