Hello all, mind if I ask some advice? I'm trying to buy a new build house and was hoping to use LVT for the kitchen/diner and hall. I'll try to get a recommended fitter in as it seems problems with fitting ruin your floor! From what I've read Amtico Spacia is expensive but good and hard wearing, Karndean comes in different models. It is good too, particularly Van Gogh, but maybe has more complaints/problems than Amtico. Then there are the other less well known brands like Mflor and Vusta. I was hoping for some advice on how these and any other brands compare to Amtico and Karndean in terms of quality and durability. Anyone worked with them? Do they have good durability? Do you need a registered mflor/vusta fitter to do it to kepp your warranty? Thanks for any help!

Van Gogh is my biggest selling single range by far, mid priced product that takes a lot of wear and tear. Amtico is a good product but if I were the one buying it I would be going for the main signature range, I'm not a fan of Spacia and certainly not a fan when it comes to fitting it. I've had a few where there were gaps between the planks. You should have a look through some of the Distinctive photos on here. I'm sure Adam will direct you at this point where best to look. They are probably making the most waves in the LVT market right now with some crackin designs and quality of product to back it up. Our display pathways are done in Distinctive, down now for 6 years and apart from me damaging a part by accident its still looking very sharp.

    Mflor is definitely my favourite.
Vusta, also known as luvanto is good to although it has alot of pattern repeat. Where are you based ?

Van Gogh is a good range tbh.
However our Italian label is a far superior plank with registered embossed features so that you can feel each grain and knot in the plank and also a beveled edge.
    Keep us posted jonboy

Spacia Xtra now do registered embossing again, as do Vusta.
The quality of Spacia has improved loads since they brought production back to the UK.
Karndean don't seem to be able to make design strips the same size!

Vusta in 3 colours, spacia in 2.
Only 90% of spacia is made in the uk. But what 90% ?? He who dares Rodney, he who dares!

Your correct with the kArndean feature strips. Massively crap with the different width that class as 3mm. Who does the quality control as they are dreadful. Getting fed up with fitting it 24/7.

OP, Also check out the Camaro range from Polyflor. Brilliant quality and really good value. One of the best IMO.

Karndean have a half mm tolerance on their design strips, its even on the box, and thats without the burr thats still on them as well as the header ends not cut through properly, seems like they are the only manufacturer who cant do design strips properly.

I'm not sure I've come across a half mill difference. Mine are generally sorted into piles of fat ones and thin ones. :D

There's a huge quality difference between camaro and Van Gogh, I apologise it would appear the thread has veered away from what it started as.

Prob is if fitting between tiles and you don't notice a thinner one the tiles start to step.

Ive been to the local flooring place and as well as van gogh, they do vusta, moduleo, collonia and true forest. These all seem a fair bit cheaper than van gogh. We're after a wood look floor, not with a special border, and I'm not too worried about the bevelled edge (they had a karndean bevelled plank that looked quite shiny on the bevel and didnt look that good). They dont do mflor in the shop.
anyone got any experience of vusta, moduleo, colonia and truforest - at the price id go forit if they had good reviews and lasted well!
id be grateful for the views of the experts!
    cheers

Camaro is the step up from colonia and is very good, slightly harder wearing.
