I'm the original poster with the now horrifically laid floor!! I live in gloucester, if there is anyone on hear close enough to take a look would be massively appreciated. I sent the pics to the fitter today with my complaint and they have agreed to come and have a look in the new year. When I asked him his opinion of the pics he said sometimes lighting can make it look like this......

I'm assuming to get this sorted the whole thing needs ripping up and starting again?

Have fitted stacks of carpet for my family and never had an issue, admittedly no idea about there history of laying this stuff. I've looked at there twitter and online and can't find a bad word about them.

Give them a chance to rectify it.

On a email Neil sent to me, they've already been back a few times. From the looks of it there's no rectifying that. Needs to come up.

    That needs taking up, Simple.
there is no 'putting it right' without it being ripped out and properly screeded and fresh lvt
Ive seen a lot of 'carpet fitters' struggle with Lvt.

    Totally agree with the rug.
When they come back in new year tell them your not happy at all with the job and you want it all replaced.
Also make sure it's done by a fitter who does a lot of LVT work. Find out what screeding compound is being used too.

Who's the company who done it out of interest?

Please do not name and shame company's on here while a dispute is going on. If the company in question does not rectify the flooring then we will consider naming them.

    Thanks Admin

What screeding compound do you think they should be using?

Will depend on the sub floor. But really you want a water mix used.

F.ball 300 is a favourite of mine but there are others that are as good.

But it will all depend on what is left after they have uplifted the floor.

Really they could do with taking the screed they put down up too with a grinding machine.

Make sure they prime the floor too.

Different screeds for different subfloors, there is no one size fits all, but generally speaking youd be looking to use a water based when and where you can.

Having looked through their twitter feed ive noticed on a couple of pics similar subfloors under their fitted lvt, and a stripey staircase for that matter with the landing going the wrong way, could just be the fitter they use isnt great at screeding, more than the products used.

Neil, was the fitter who did the floor a employee or was he a sub contractor ?
