Ok cool, so if I get the protimeter aquant, that would tell me whether or not I need to do a proper damp test with the box or drill n plug, so green being dry and yellow borderline. So if yellow for example a waterbased is a deff no no but could use a moisture tolerant latex and lay a floor and gamble so to speak?

The scale on scan mode means absolutely jack ****
It only gives an indication so you know the best place to carry out a test
You need to know what the RH% is & the only ways to find out is with a humidity box
Or a probe in the floor

So would you only carry out a proper test if the scale is yellow or red across the floor?

    I don't use box's unless there's ufh
I use probes & take the reading with an mms
Scan the floor first with mms

Do the probes give an instant reading of RH?

Pretty much Yes your taking a reading from in the slab rather than waiting for moisture vapour to rise up to the box
British standards says to leave for a min of 72 hours either way
