i got my itools kit from Havwoods and wasn't offered a dedicated mixer so I bought the H handled MM30 for about £300 but that hasn't got a variable speed. Should have checked before I ordered I guess, but I presumed a good German manufacturer would have something like that as standard.
Yeah, pretty much the same. It does say Variable Speed on the spec but it appears that can mean the speed control trigger like you mentioned and not a numbered dial type thing like I had hoped for. Bit annoying really that I've got to either buy another or do the cable tie trick when I've paid quite a lot of dosh for what I thought was one of the best mixers for the job.
It is one of the best quality wise, like you said though shame you can't lock it on anything but full on, cable tie or a bit of Velcro soon sorts that out though.
Those mixers are the best mate. Ive had the 2 speed one for years now, and apart from a new cable, its still great, and has mixed thousands of units up. The mixers that came with the i tools set up, are quite cheap and nasty, but just suit the job well.
I had the tecmix one before this had variable speed **** but an anti lock on switch!! What's the idea of not locking the switch on. Good mixer tho lasted me 6 years.
When I was looking for a mixer for the iTools it seemed most of them under 1800w had a 50kg mixing limit so technically weren't strong enough for a 3 bag mix.
I had the older model. It has the button to lock it on but it doesn't. When I viewed the spec on screwfix it said anti lock on switch and I've tried it tonight. It doesn't lock it.!!
