Is the thicker the better so 8mm is better then 7mm Or is it like wear layer on top like LVT so .7mm wear layer better then 0.7mm Does it go by the manufacturer ? So a quickstep 7mm is better then a B&Q colours 8mm?
Anything is better than the diy shed stuff! last time I was asked to fit that it was cheap chipboard type gear, I walked away needless to say more hassle than its worth.
I don't know how true it is but I've been led to believe that the higher quality mdf ( ie. HDF ) is only available starting at 8mm?! Just something I got told when I was doing my bit as a salesman a few years ago again don't know if it's true!
It's all down to the locking mechanisms and wear layer mate, then you could get technical with amount of microns in the print etc.. more microns higher def pic. Although the thicker boards do feel more substantial underfoot with less tapping, and the locking system within a range i.e. krono vario are tougher
