Hi We had 340sqm of Amtico installed in January. Last week we hired a polisher, brought the Amtico stripper and cleaned the floors. It came up really well even through we did not use the maintainer as we didn't have it. We are now looking at buying the machine but aside from the cost of the machine (£849) it would cost us £200 in product every time we want to clean our floors! 10 litres of Amtico Stripper, 20 litres of Amtico Floorcare Dressing. We are a busy function venue and have been advised to do this every month - £2,400 in floor cleaning products a year is a bit extreme! Is there any other product that will do the same job? I have asked Amtico but they just say we are not covered unless we use their product and their product is made specifically for their floors. Would any other products really harm the floor/ reduce life? Would I be better buying a scrubber/dryer to clean the floor more regularly and then just hiring a polisher every few months (£80 a time) Or should we continue to clean traditionally - hoover then mop, occasional buff and polish Which would be the better investment and provide the best results? We also have real wood floors so would be good to buy a machine that can also improve the cleaning on these floors. Really appreciate any advice I have been going around in circles! Thank you!!
Dear DM and mjfl Thank you so much for your advice, I have emailed the Dr Schultz rep in the UK and asked for his suggestion as to the best cleaning methods hopefully he will have an answer as I have been going round in circles! Thank you again Louise
Haha I know it probably does seem strange to be asking this at the same time! However we do have other Amtico floors in the building too and I am hoping to have a decent cleaning procedure in place when the floor is fixed! The prices are insane for cleaning products £35 for the maintainer that only covers 25sqm! I have heard back from Richard at Dr Schutz who was really helpful, he recommended a scrubber/ dryer rather than polisher and to use their PU cleaner. He also mentioned having a more permanent PU treatment on the floor (a layer over the Amtico) which costs around £10 per sqm so may look in to this in the future
