I was working up in Sunderland last week, about a 4-5 hour journey for us. Travelled home Friday afternoon, and got a bit carried away on the A14/M11. Looked up and saw the speed camera van on a bridge, then looked down, and was doing about 90mph.
I suppose it depends how fast I was really going, and if I got the speed down in time. Dont fancy court really
So you was doing gps 86mph then if the dash said 90mph so if you think you slowed down even more so then you may be just within the margin fingers cross!
Speed awareness from past experience I thought I was doing about 85 when I got caught a long time ago but the speed they clocked me at was 76 as I managed to slow down enough.
A good few years ago, I bought my first new van. A Transporter, 2.5 tdi. I think it x-y plate, and it was fast. I had a go against a Xr2i, and it just about out ran it. I had to make a run up to Glasgow, to fit 3 amtico tiles, which I had posted up, to be fitted by a local fitter, but they got lost with Parcelforce, and the shop was due to open that morning. I left at about 3am and got there in plenty of time, a nice easy run. The trip back was very different, and was basically a constant jam up. After about 6 hours, the traffic eased up, and I floored it, so up to about 125mph. After a few miles, I noticed a blue Volvo estate, right up arse, so eased back, and at 99mph he revealed his true colours, and flashing lights. He said he had been following me for a while, just observing, but as I was leaving his area, he had to give me a nudge, to get me under 100mph, to avoid the instant ban scenario. Top copper !
I was done a few weeks ago. Luckily I qualified for the awareness course....guess I'll be sitting at a desk real soon nodding and keeping my mouth shut
heard a bloke on the radio say he,d been to the course and the instructor asked if anyone had been before and what did they think about it- This guy stands up said he had & that he,d learnt alot Hilarious!
