    Hi,

I'm a residential customer and I've been looking at LVT (will probably go with Polyflor Camero), however I live in a first floor maisonette and want to sound proof reasonably well. I've been reading up on the products available and Regupol 4515 seems to be a good choice, does anyone have any experience with it?

I did phone CMS Danskin and they recommended I use the 3mm over the 4.5mm to avoid movement in the floor, was thinking of having 6mm ply with Regupol on top followed by the LVT. I spoke with Polyflor too and they really can't recommend any products over than their own Camero LOC which you can purchase acoustic underlay but its quite pricey compared to the standard Camero.

    Thanks,

    Terry

Have you looked into the cost of the Regupol added to the camaro? Can't be much difference between the loc stuff as regupol ain't cheap to buy.

I did 2 bedrooms in the camaro loc few weeks ago on a new build and I was surprised how much the loc with underlay reduced the noise when walking over it compared to how it was. Expensive for what it is though, looks real cheap!

It's still cheaper I believe to go down the Regupol route, would you recommend the Camero Loc range?

Good to know, when you say it looks cheap, do you mean worse than the regular Camero range?

No I meant the underlay looks and feels real cheap, sorry ;)

I love the white limed oak in the camaro range but think it actually looks better in the loc, Customer loved it. Used the new bianco oak on the ground floor in the stick down with a 10mm black border strip round the perimeter.

Thanks for clearing that up, did you lay ply first then the Loc underlay followed by the LVT?

Or has anyone got an experience with floating floors? I found one called a "hush panel" (sorry, can't post a link - but google hush panel), no idea on price though

No ply prep just straight onto the new build boarded floor.

Never used it but polyflor are usually pretty good, do your maths with the regupol/camaro compared to the loc is all I'd say.

fitted some quickstep livyn last week seemed fairly quiet underfoot with their matching underlay. looked the part as well and uses a proven locking system.
