Been asked for this on latest job, apparently out with std rams. Anyone got a template I can use for this? ‘What is required is a `hot works permit ` , this is issued prior to hot works starting on site that identifies who is charge , the controls measures to prevent a fire , start and finishing times and signed off as completed by the contractor and Site manager’ This was covered in the method statement and risk assessment however I think they are looking for something more specific.
Hot works permits are issued by the site manager. So long as you have, what you are doing in your Rams, he will issue one, before you start. A new one needs to be issued each day Sometimes they can be a bit weird. We had one, where we had to have a fire extinguisher next to where we were working, but apparently if anything caught fire, we were not allowed to use the extinguisher, as we were not trained to do so.
Yup This seems to be the issue They haven’t issued one, expecting me to hand em one. Def crosses wires Think they want a more in-depth mention in the rams
Yeah Mike, I’ve never know a flooring company to have to issue their own hot works permit. Don’t they have a h and s person that should be doing that for you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Normally, if you tell them there is no 'naked flame', there should not be an issue. I have only ever had to get a permit a few times, on really strict sites. Waste of time, and basically bollox
I have to get them quite a lot.. the worst ones are when you have to sit around for a hour after you’ve finished welding on “fire watch”. Not good when it’s home time
It’s something the site manager/estates/facilities department(depending on where you’re working) issues you with - you don’t have to produce your own copy and give to them. Sorry hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That’s exactly what I thought and said to them, it’s a joke. They expecting me to issue them one. Bloody jobsworths
