Help me out lads, Looking for a fitter to rectify my badly fitted karndean van gogh lvt before i pull it up and bin it.cheers

 

Thanks mate, if this company doesnt sort it out i'll give you a shout I'd rather wait for a professional than try tackling it myself or worse still scrapping the damn stuff

Just had that shit company back out as a lot of the lvt is lifting again
He said its due dampness in the floor
Said they didnt take moisture readings cos its an old house. I asked what he intended to do about it and said I'll give you your money back get someone else to do it! HaHa looking for advice or recomendations

As soon as you begin the process to install anything the fitter has then deemed the floor adequate enough to accept floorcoverings. Failure to prepare and all that...

UZIN KE 2000 S was adhesive used.
So far ive got
1.No moisture readings taken (as its an old house)
2.No acclimatising time, no flooring was left overnight in my house
3. He claims the self leveling acrylic used doesnt actually make the floor level, theres dips and bumps all over
4. it was cold november and radiator in hallway hadnt been installed there was no mention of heating until flooring started lifting
5.The thresh strip to kitchen had been glued not screwed and was curving up over an inch due to being 10mm too long to fit flat
6. No roller was ever used
7.They have been back 8 times to address lifting planks, melting a brand new stair carpet with heat gun
8.came back to replace carpet to damaged stair with an off cut i had and couldnt manage to do that properly
9.owner came friday to inspect.planks are still lifting Spat his dummy telling me to send him my bank details.he'd give me my money back and i could get someone else in!
My main concern is the skirting boards are on and fully decorated now none of which was cheap, can i get this fixed without damaging it all

 

If you use a professional all this can be rectified jonah. Process should be...

Choose your flooring and have it delivered before installation, ideally 2/3 days to allow for it to acclimitise.

Uplift existing floor, remove current latex and carry out a moisture check. Depending on readings you may need to apply a DPM to the floor. Before the latex goes down ensure they use a primer. Then latex to gain a smooth, flat surface. Regarding the skirting boards, as stated if you use a pro they can fit precisely without the need of cutting the skirting, it may be a case that latex can be bought to a level just below and have the LVT slide underneath.
