I have a large hotel job that designer stated she wanted Moduleo Moods Hexagons in all 18 en-suites.
100 sqmt were ordered and produced for me for this job so all colour matched.
Waited almost 4 weeks when told would be 2 weeks.
Got to hotel last week to start fitting them and they do not join up at all. Tried taking backing off on edges and still no joy.
Moduleo have said to just the joint filler as that’s what it’s designed for. Although I don’t feel that’s good enough. As I’ve now been told to take backing off all 6 sides and then fill it. So more expense and time from my side. The hotel owner is not happy understandably. I don’t feel Moduleo really give a shit and it’s all about how many metres they can produce. And not what their product is like for us to lay. Had problems with their header joints a lot lately so don’t sell it anymore.
Anyone else had any bad experiences with Moduleo I’m general or their moods?
Ps anyone want some Moduleo stands??

    Ask for full replacement .
Unfortunately all the big boys are mass producing and the quality is slipping in my opinion , iv had run of problems with other big brands at the moment
If it makes you feel any better I ran into problems today myself and Iv sent the product back as i can’t fit it ( not moduleo)
Iv not had problems with moduleo ( yet )!
If your not happy and the clients not happy don’t fit it

Thing is Paul, Moduleo deem its acceptable as that’s what the joint filler is for and was designed for. I feel maybe don’t make a product if you can’t make it without then having to bring out a joint sealer to solve issues. So much for their factory 3 solving all of their problems!!!
All as bad as each other although not had any other issues with other lvt manufacturers YET!

Moduleo is shocking as a company. We had nothing but problems with them. I don’t think the products are made very well and if you have a issue with anything from orders or quality control they will just ignore you. As with all these companies that give you problems as the middle man your best off just ditching them and find someone that will help your business look good. Most companies will just bang it on the floor and it will probably be filled with crap in a few weeks time so why bother. Fill it if you have to and don’t use it again in my opinion

    Yeah totally see your point.
Owner and designer will hopefully choose something else and then Moduleo can come and pick up the hexagons!! I’ve not paid for them yet luckily!

Did the customer see a sample board? If so ,did the sample have filler in it? You could almost understand poor manufacturing if it was a budget product, but it's not,and for what they are paying, the customer expects perfection from us and we are sold crap to work with. If they are not careful, lvt will end up with the reputation laminate did 20years ago and still trying to shake

No filler in samples but just had stand updated last week and the new sample boards have filler in them
Laughable really, like you say customer is investing a lot of money for a perfect floor and then we get sent shit out and customer doesn’t understand why we can’t fit it!

    Seems that way!
No doubt someone will use it instead of feature strips and start something new!

I've said it before and I'll say it again

Nothing is perfect Its up to a good fitter to deal with these little tolerances in the manufacturing process

A good fitter wouldn’t have the time to take backing off 6 sides off 100 metres and then joint seal it!
This is one hotel which could turn into 10, I can’t afford for the job to go wrong or the owner to be unhappy.

If you carry on installing this badly made stuff at your own cost your only going to let the poor standards go on. It’s only plastic so yes you can cut it yourself or fill it with grout but I don’t have time for that and if I get other fitters in to do large areas that need doing quickly they won’t do it either. If you price accordingly it’s worth doing. Should be written out on the quote...extra cost for re cutting each tile! I don’t think the clients want to pay the extra or expect to.
To be fair it will probably all end up with hairline gaps after a few years so might as well crack on with it.
