I have a kitchen with about 6m2 of quarry tiles and corner of kitchen was outdoor toilet been knocked back into kitchen to make it square, corner part filled with concrete to get it same level ish so floors a bit uneven that corner..my plan after googling as ive not done flooring before is clean floor, stopgap p131 primer onto floor, then green bag/141 to level floor off, then stop gap 77 to add dpm so new kitchen then lino can be laid as the old lino was damp underneath im assuming from no dpc and not being breathable..does this sound like a plan that would work given situation..many thanks.. p.s i own this house getting it rdy for rental not winging a job..
Are there any merchants that sell this all seems to be online only?, or is there an equivalant in say topps tiles etc worth using..thanks
Im a tradesman myself but who does proffesional floor self levelling with dpc i dont know anyone to be fair can only think off builders and id rather get the decent , right gear and do it myself than pay a builder 500 quid to go to wicks and throw down a bag of home brand self leveller, some bitumen and tell me jobs a good one.. not going to get a guarantee on work unless its dug down and done by the book id magine either..
What kind of trade you in? As long as you spec it right and have the right materials to hand then let a floor pro do the rest. Sounds easy on paper but might be some obstacles along the way and if you dont know how to deal with them then you could be throwing your money away.
Trade product so either see if there is a trade counter near by that will sell to you or go into a local independent shop and ask them if they would take a material only order, or better yet ask the independent to do it for you as you will get a guarantee that way, if costing abit more.
Its all good thanks ordered 2 bags of 1200 pro as mentioned and 7kg of stopgap 77 from flooring hut. Ill give it a good hoover and clean then lay 1200 and dpm after feel pretty confident it will do the job looks to be good gear..
funny another house googled again and this thread popped up , to anyone looking i laid a bed of self leveller ultra tile 2 part, then stopgap 77, then leveller again and that was 4 years ago lino still in top notch condition at rental...
