Hi guys. Im 37 years old and due to start a new job in 3 weeks. Ive been fitting carpets for the last 15 years. I like the job but fear for my knees and health long term. Finishing early every day, plenty of holidays etc have been great. Now the new jobs gona be longer hours. Less holidays. Less freedom. But the way i see it i wont be knackering my body. Which means a lot to me. (Im a climber). Im constantly wondering if im doing the right thing. Moneys about the same. Just less holidays.
Does anyone else think about getting out.?

I'd love to get out the trade but nothing comes near to what I earn so my body is going to have to carry me unless I get lucky and someone hands me a big lump sum so I can go into property development .

    What's the new Job?

Its pest control. Very much like rentokil just a different company. I wont fit loads of flooring so pays not too much different. Got no kids and dont plan on having them due to certain reasons.
    Fingers crossed itll work out.

Yer your right in what you say. I dont mind putting in extra hours as long as im not physically knackered. Im sure I'll be just as tired by the end of the day though. Just hoping it'll be sustainable, but if not I'll get back in the game.
