hello i been flooring for 6 years for the same company learnt carpets sheet vinyl lvt carpet tiles and have got to the stage where iam doing jobs by myself with a lad iam employed do 9 hour days but i dont drive i just wanted to get advice of what i should be paid iam on a day rate of 90 pounds
Depends on the quality of work, where you work etc, driving definitely helps towards securing a better wage but it's not an absolute must
Depends where you are and the quality of work. Ive commented on here before about a daily wage that recieved a laugh from spacey, but all the fitters i know self employed are on £250 day rate atleast and thats if the job doesnt pay. Get more on price, around south london kent area
Earn the same doing parcels, this games too physically demanding to be hammering your body in my opinion for a wage you can earn doing something easy. To good fitters, id say dont undervalue yourself and to employers/shop owners id say respect and pay your workers if you want good fitters and good work done. Rates are different across the country i guess
£1000 a week doing parcels day rate. I’ll tell my mate that as he earns half that. We mainly do LVT and I want to win jobs so charging silly money to lay it I won’t have much work. Up here I have 4 other flooring shops in the same town. I’m fitting every day still as can’t find good enough fitters to do domestic work for me.
I know a lot of drivers, and none that I know earn £200 a day. Most guys that I know, including in the London area want between £160-£200 a day, with a view to earning around 1k a week. Everyone wants to earn more, obviously, but if you asked any firm that I know for more than £200, they would laugh
