Currently on a job and just want to confirm how you all firstly start fitting parquet?. I always fit field first but do you lay the planks in full rows left to right or do a straight run of two planks top to bottom? I’ve tried both but in past but both have had their issues.. I’ve got a big fireplace to work round which is lovely too haha any tips be great thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't zig zag it work up and down in rows starting with two rows down the middle Mark a line 27mm to the right of your centre and starting from the centre of the line with first two blocks right over left pointing up the line
Haha yep proper workout this one. I’ll post some pics if it works out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’m planning to come off the centre line (don’t want to complicate it anymore than I need to). when I get halfway either side of it I’ll dry lay them and hold them with tape to see how it matches up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Use a square tile to keep everything 90 degrees And draw some datum lines around the fireplace That will help you keep it together
Do you mean use the square tile when I come round the other side to keep it square? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Progress on this for anyone who is interested for future reference. Thanks to Spacey’s tip I used a square tile lined up on a line 27mm to the right of my centre line(see first pic) this will give you a perfect balance either side. Fit it in rows up and down (not across) worked a treat so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
