Can I lay Amtico directly onto 18mm ply or do I need to prep the ply ?

    Hi ,

Your new build should have a warranty with Nhbc , labac or other insurers. You will have a two year waranty period for defects . Nhbc will have a set of standards it should meet .These standards are measurable such as screed which is + & - 5mm over 2mts others are subjective . You will also have a 10 year waranty for structural defects.

    Thanks

Why do builders never finish the void at the patio and back doors correctly this is a bug bear of mine grrrr! 9 times out of ten there's either a DPM or foam to cut back and fill with rapid repair mortar! And last in gets the blame.

I remember when Hassal homes were on the go ( I kid you not that was there name) I fitted a kitchen in sheet vinyl and it went down in one sheet through the kitchen into the utility at the back of the garage. I got the site Firman around to show him my handy work this is how it played.." hi pal this tile effect cushion floor looks great in this kitchen it's bang on true mate..( opened the door to the utility) "yeah but c it here pal that walls six inches out of true compared to your kitchen m8" his reply " yeah but you've run it off wrong!" I then pointed out that it was sheet vinyl and if it's correct in one room it should be in the other they ended up taking the wall down a rebuilt it lol.

They just don’t care mate it’s all about quick profit, they throw them up with cheap materials as quickly as they can and sell them off way before they’re ready. One of the only decent new builds I’d ever seen was done with quality products, they took their time and didn’t sell them before they were ready, wasn’t a single fault.
