Price increases

Hi all, I’m hearing of some quite frankly horrifying price increases coming from various screed/adhesive suppliers, will this affect your buying habits or just put your own costs up a bit and continue with chosen brand ?

 

Just put prices up, I’d rather charge more than use an inferior product.

I would try more cheaper products, as higher price doesn't always automatically mean it's a better product, i tried mapei na and personally prefer it to ardex na,it's just a bonus that it's £7 a bag cheaper, but in the end it comes down to whichever does the job the best and if it happens to be the most expensive i will adjust my price accordingly

 

There’s a difference with cheaper and cheap though.

Yeah we’ve done the same unless it’s a really terrible subfloor

I'm expensive anyway so I'll just not make as much profit

 

Can't wait to see what delights our estimator and fitters will have to refuse to fit on and then rectify with the usual "our builder said he'd do the floor prep" lot if they start trying to use even cheaper products to make up the margins...
