Hi all, Just looking for a general sweep of opinions here. i have a client who is currently on site with 5 Nbr school all in Ireland. Combined m2 just under 22,000 m2. The vast majority is flat lay either Lino or Vinyl, no welding on the Lino and its mainly large empty classrooms around 75-120 m2 each. On every level there is maybe 2-3 toilet blocks that are cap/cove. the program is around 13 months. So DPM, 3mm latex and fit. the jobs are lump summed packages in terms of labour with an overall figure of €277,000 this equates to an average of €13.00 m2 all in. I know that sounds a little cheap but its large rooms and 13 months solid work. 4 good teams on it but feedback is that they cant make it pay. Any thoughts/input . Oh by the way i have 35 years knowledge and experience as a flooring estimator/QS and ive served my time on the tools so i know what i am talking about. just looking for some input. Stay safe guys
Way too low for me, I hope that’s just labour price and not supply screed or dpm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
€277,000 between 4 teams for 13 months work isn’t near enough and paying lump sums is a no no to me big red flag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Its the type of thing we do, and I would say its low. I wouldn`t take it on at those rates. That said, what is the % of vinyl & lino ? I don`t think the two can be compared on price
4 good teams you say...... how many men in each team.... if you base it on 2 per team that’s 8. 8 people 13 months / 56 weeks work 277000= 21307 a month % 8 = 2663 euro a month per man or 123 euros a day based on working 5 days for 56 week. I’m only assuming here to try and help but if the above is correct it’s pretty crap rates for a decent fitter
