So hows everyone approaching the covid 19 rules? Ive put together some new ts and cs that im going to be sending out to every customer from now on. Its a good time to start making sure our work areas are clear and ready. Ive found its working already, sent them to a customer last week as we are meant to be starting his job and it turns out hes got a plasterer in the same week doing "some" of the ceilings ceilings!! We will be asking for clear work areas and clear access to our work areas as well as a few other bits and pieces. Get it in writing and get it in to them
The 3 jobs I have lined up next week should be straight forward. 2 of them the house owners have started back work, both on 12hr shifts and the 3rd one he's dropping a key off and he's going fishing for the day. Week after is full week of prep & lvt for my mates mum but she can hang around if she wants because she's quite fit
Im back working Social distancing and regular hand washing and hand sanitizer is being used And also antibacterial wipes for door handles and any hard surfaces that are touched including the finished floor on completion Also I'm doing no uplifts, furniture or white goods moving
6 of us back Wed, PPE sorted apparently so let’s see what it brings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What PPE ? Ive been talking to a few sites towards the end of last week, and generally, they are saying no additional PPE. Gloves are supposed to be worse than bare skin, and masks are in such demand they are not generally available. One site has been very specific that these are not to be worn.
I've been looking at the gov.uk site ( https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19 ) and for my work as a domestic fitter they say there is no need for additional PPE just good hygiene...
That’s the important thing. Good hygiene. Somewhere to wash and dry your hands properly. Gloves are not a help unless you constantly change them. Plus you have to dispose of them properly. Not sure about face masks. I use them to stop screed dust. Not sure they will help with covid dust! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
First day back today, berkely homes site so youd imagine theyre gonna be sheet hot on H&S.. nope, no wash stations no nothing anywhere, didnt even see any in the site office. Plots not sanitised, crawling around in dust ridden plots as per usual. They didnt close throughout the entire lockdown and have carried on as normal. All thats changed is "sign this to wave our liability".
Thats pretty piss poor. I would imagine a visit from the H&S exec would have something to say about it. I don`t know how any site managed to stay open throughout with there being no supply chain. Im struggling to get anything from distribution delivered, and collection seems just as hard.
True.... Ive been in touch with 4 distributors today for some cove former, 2428 and F61. 2 can`t/won`t deliver and don`t have stock anyway, one was a flat no, and the other is yet to get back to me.
Don’t bother going to Thatcham, Matty waited from 8 to 12 for 14 packs of LVT today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
2x boxs. Normally use Gradus CF1 Ive got an order coming from Gemini so could tag it to that if I have to.
