I need carpet fitting on my stairs and I have previously fitted it myself but me being completely inexperienced didn't do it so well last time. Would it be worth getting someone else to fit it or should I try again?
Asking a flooring forum full of people in the trade whether you should try and fit flooring yourself get the pros in mate. What we have worked hard to be able to do Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Rooms are one thing, stairs are different and I've seen DIY stairs that are downright dangerous.. Get in a professional, it's a small expense when compared to the cost of the carpet coming loose and falling down!
My mate did his with a kitchen spatula. I was back there a month later redoing it all as it had no stretch/tension and was wrinkled up like a walnut Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The bloke on my street nailed his stair carpet, through the underlay the lot. He put the riser gripper upside down and hot glued the bullnose
You answered your own question when you said "it didn't go so well" and that was an easy one!!! Of course you get a professional in because it's what they do and they do it better than you (and me).
You definitely would want someone to do it for you and like the other guy said the costs are minimal compared to the cost of the carpet
