A plumbing or electrical course, it pays better and isn't as hard work

Floorskills and FITA both do courses and are the best around in my opinion.

Have you decided which type of flooring you want to start with?

That will be my starting point I know money isn’t a big thing when your learning but what can you get per day as a fitter? £100/150 I’ve been told?

Depends on the jobs, but you should usually be able to do 20sqm per day easily at about £12 sqm

I think every trade should have a basic knowledge of every other trade, I'm not saying to know as much or attempt other trades, but it does help when working with other trades, things like doing jobs in the right order and not doing stuff to make the following trades job harder, but i doubt that will ever happen

Had to laugh. We get asked to do all sorts on site.
I once built the walls, and taped and jointed a changing room, just so I could fit the floor.

I had a site manager ask me to set a datum line for the whole site once when I turned up to for some carpet tiles and lvt ? Is he having a laugh? Anyone else ever had to do that?
