Would you say this is an acceptable amount of shading, what you can see is footprints, they sample does not show anywhere near this amount, it's a furlongs carpet and they say it's ok,but I'm now going to have to supply a replacement out of my own pocket

Solitare, i know you will get shading with this kind of carpet, but this looks awful

Just that type of carpet. We did one for a jewellers a few years ago. They specified the exact carpet and colour. Then complained about the shading. Bit mad if you ask me. They probably hadn’t seen it with so much light before as it was in front of a massive window.

I think it's this particular colour that makes it look worse, the majority of this kind of stuff we do, is usually greys and the shade difference isn't usually that extreme

I'd agree with this. We had a customer with a light cream/gold coloured Mohawk/Lano Velvet that we made very clear would shade heavily and the customer was still surprised and raised a complaint after installation (the pole mark taking ages to come out did not help the situation admitedly but they accepted everything in the end). Looked and felt great once they were used to it.

Same lol. They want a carpet they can see lines in when they Hoover it!
