New Karndean Floor

    If anyone can give me advice, I'd appreciate it. Company has come back to say they'll be able to rectify by adding smoothing compound to either side of floor + replacing border.

    Here's what they said. Tbh I don't trust them to do job properly if they couldn't get it right first time

    "When preparing the subfloor, we have applying 6mm sp101 plywood over floorboards to allow the karndean to be installed. The shape of the subfloor in this section of the dining room has been highlighted by the fireplace as there appears to be a fall either side from the centre. As explained, this can be rectified by applying a fibre reinforced smoothing compound either side of the fireplace to alleviate the shape of the subfloor around the fireplace."

    Just tell them to proceed if they can guarantee that they can get it to SR1
    As per karndeans (BS) specification/tolerance

    I don’t think that will be possible. It’s not even possible in a lot of old houses

    I know it’s not but tbf, they have done a shocking job. It needs replacing and saying that might scare the cowboys off
