No good for flooring, staples /nails not big enough. Maestri is the best electric one.Tacwise do some cheaper stapler/nailer but the staples & nails cost A lot more & tend to be unreliable
for subfloor prep i dont know of a electric stapler that passes regs any more. The maestri ELECTRIC staple guns are no longer recommended for installing plywood.
Brads would be fine as I'd only use them for scotia but as you was the staples only go upto 1inch which for ply and bullnose is a little short Why don't they pass regs now ? My dad has a maestri and tbh it's to powerful, with ply the staples go through to far and when used on stairs the staples quite often go straight though the carpet
we use tacwise ,try on ebay lots there divergent staples upto 35mm i think also they do a dual brad/stapler but i use ring shanks to lay ply.
You have answered your own question ! Plywood quality is so low of late that the staples shoot all the way through the plywood. If the staples dont go all the way through then there is a risk that they will still pull through with movement. Its not the gun at fault but the substandard plywood.
I'm watching on on eBay now, only bad thing about them though is when stapling a bull nose sometimes its awkward to fire
If you have a compressor, you'd be better of buying a pneumatic brad gun. A lot cheaper can be found and there far more reliable. even the expensive electric brad/staplers are no match for pneumatic guns.
