Just had to look at a job for a developer that I work for but was to busy to get it done in time for him so he got another company to just do this one house, the company in question only supply's the carpet and the customer pays the fitter separately so any come backs its with the fitter not the shop, but the fitter isn't answering his phone so developer has asked me to sort it out tomorrow night ,anyone who fits carpets these pics should show how not to do it, just got to wait for phone to charge, ( it cheered me up anyway after the issue with my other job ) pics to follow

and again this is why i created the directory - http://theflooringforum.com/listing.php

Its fitters like this that ruin the trade. Hence the directory where you can check to see what a fitter is like (grading system) or at the least you can see if they have been trained etc.

I see this sort of fitting on daily basis. Yes its funny but its us floorlayers that get branded with the above quality and our fitting prices are effected due to this.

    What a joke.

    Thats a belter!
Couple of weeks ago I had to do a stair and top landing for a mates aunt, the fitter had measured it short and there was only enough for the stair so he just nailed it over the last stair onto the existing carpet on the top landing, he then must have ran out of nails because he had put 3 nails inbetween the tread and risers half way up the stair and spray glued the rest. ( he was recommended to her aswell)
Wish i had taken pics now.

Wembely in £1.1m gaff. Is that builder mad. He's lucky they didn't make him replace it even if it was fitted well. I only priced 1 house for developer, it was 100 m2 of carpet and 90 m2 of quickstep, I was £800 more than the other firm?? No way was they floor layers

No excuse for that kind of fitting at all tbh
I can't even comprehend what goes through someone's mind when they stand back and look down and think 'yeah, that'll do'
    wtf???
even a 1 yr apprentice would do a better job than that!!

Shocking! If I were you mate, tell 'em there's nothing that can be done with it and order some good stuff from you, get materials and a days work out of it! They'll probably jump at it if it's holding the up the sale.
