Just read that using a knee kicker affects your lower back and not your knee. Had probs with lower back for years. So gonna bight the bullet and get a power stretcher and actually use it. Any advice on best model/package to get would be greatly appreciated.

My old boss used to see a chiropractor (don't know how to spell it) to re-align his hips which were buggered up from years of kicking with the same leg.
Using a knee kicker shouldn't damage your knee joints, because you actually kick with the bottom of your thigh bone rather than the knee joint.
So my advice to any noobie would be to alternate your kicking leg and wear a good pair if pads.
    And drink lots of lager.

Not that drinking will make you a better fitter.
But it will make your wife look prettier.

Get one with a swivel head on it.
Roberts junior one I think would do, stretches upto 7odd Lin.
Best bet is to get extra tubes as well for the long ass rooms etc.

But do we really need power stretchers?
I'm sure they're ideal in big houses with big rooms, but in a 4 x 3?, which is about as big as rooms get in the majority of British houses?

Invented by Yanks for Yanks, I think.

Yep i reckon years of hammering a knee kicker is the cause of my recent back problems. Genuinly believe that. Carpets are so much stiffer or solid these days.....not much elasticity in them, its like hitting a brick wall at times.

There's a fair few over 5mtr around here, and I thought you should always powerstretch a woven.

Have to admit, i`m the same. Never used a power stretcher.

Think you have as much chance of getting every1 in the trade to acclimatise their carpets than fit every1 over 5m with a power stretcher.

There is methods that can eliminate a power stretcher on rooms up to 10 meters. But to be fair you are just as quick using a power stretcher which also has more control over what you are doing. Only certain carpets apply tho.
