very similar to the americain pattern as shown by matt, although as room shapes vary the strech pattern has to vary. always make sure that patterns are stright (esp stripes and pindots) along fireplaces. i use a trimmer mostly or stright blades

Do you always use all them cutting tools and are they easier/better then a knife?

Any reason for the double gripper under the rad ?

I still use a knife most of the time however I like to use the trimmer when I can.......particularly on long straight walls, under low radiators. I use the speedcat thing on almost every job though.

Double gripper under the radiator is just a habit I have started to get into.....I find it a lot easier to get the carpet hooked on and tucked properly with two rows.....especially if it the radiator is low to the ground (admittedly these were ok)

I might look at getting a speed cat, is it actually quicker or do you just use it because you like it ?

To be honest I use it because I like it, but if you are already a quick fitter ( I am not !) I suppose it could speed things up a bit.

I also like to use it for tucking but you have to make sure the base is right on the gripper or you risk marking the skirting with the wheels. Provided the base is flat the angle of the tool keeps the wheels away from the skirting.

Agree, crease the carpet with the back off your dolphin knife then turn and cut, then stretch with kicker then tuck in.easy.
