Please can someone shed some light on this subject. Had a job today with a well known brand of laminate, a problem arrissed with the headers. The transition from board to board wasn't smooth, in fact it was measurable. could someone state the tolerance if any which is deemed acceptable?( fitted hundreds of m2 of numerous brands and imo they should be a smooth transition from board to board). The shop that the job was for tells me the British standards is 4 sheets of a4 paper in height, is the allowed difference. This can't be true, is it?
Thanks mate, so around 1 sheet of 80gsm paper in thickness average expected and equal or greater than 2 sheets is above max limit?
wasnt balterio microgroove was it coz they changed it from 8 mm to 7mm and i had a nightmare getting rid of old stock as no new stock matched
you cant measure with paper. Not only can the gram weight be different but you can have two different papers with same gram weight but different thickness. The gram weight is how much the paper weighs and is not accurate for its accurate thickness. But as a average about one sheet You need a feeler gauge. Get one from halfords for about £5.
No mate, this laminate was groove less. The beveled laminates don't tend to show differences in level, i suppose a 7mm and 8mm board would be a problem.
