I've got a floorwise one that takes the 12mm sticks, had it 7years, still works well.

how do you find the speed of it? mine will produce glue as fast as you can put the gripper down a bit like a silicon gun. Do the cheaper smaller guns manage to melt adhesive at a high rate or are waiting for the gun to melt the adhesive all the time?

Well I use the gun & the lad drops the gripper in the molten glue, & yes he struggles to keep up:D
I noticed now they've got A new model which claims 2 kg per hour melt rate. Not as fast as yours i wouldn't think

Never liked them much, burnt my fingers enough times. Thought the bond wasn't strong enough and took ages. Much prefer the morleys quick set stuff.

I do use glue machine too , which comes in a 500 g bottle , you put a thin line
down and it really sticks like nothing else I,ve used .......but still want a gun too if I need to stick smaller areas quickly

    Agree 100%
Think the hot melt bond is never very strong, & certainly doesn't stand up to an impact. (bolstering Cpt in etc)
The morleys a17 quick set addy is amazing stuff, use it all the time

Hot melt, you mean the stuff that all comes up like a string of sausages when you uplift the old carpet. Hate it

Ive got tec-bond that uses 43mm slugs never had any issues with impact strength. Yes over time it goes brittle but so does fast set addy
and the slug cost is less than half that of fast set

    same as my guns.

For you lot having issues, the 43mm slugs are different to the stick type adhesives. Can be damaged by shock (normally when knee kicker pins hit it) but if stretched right you shouldn't have a issue providing the subfloor is suitable for using it on.

i think the smaller nozzles are for accurate beads. We remove nozzle and use without. You end up with around a 5mm open end that pours the glue out as fast as you can squeeze the trigger.

mine are a few years old now tho so not sure on the new ones?
