when you say screed i presume you mean skim coat or is their another area you layed a screeding compound? Pics!
I Presume matt means that because the pics show a scratch coat being put on that its not screed, as its sposed to be applied a min 3mm deep
Yes F3 the boy left my spreader on another job so had to use a Karndean fan speader 40' long me hand was killen
What screed did you use. When I worked for my old boss in the 90s we did loads of skim coats. Now most screeds say they must go on at minimum 3mm. Why?
3mm is what depth they need to start 'self smoothing' and also the depth they need to be at to set to required strength. Imagine putting down a slab of concrete at say 10mm and driving over it and then a slab of concrete at say 100mm. Massive difference in strength. If you need to only put a fine coat down to cover up old adhesive as you may be fitting carpet ( as in this thread ) then you would use a product for skim coating or a product that is fine to be under 3mm.
yep. Where people go wrong is fitting a product like LVT on a "skim/feather" prep. As you know any dips etc that was in the floor will remain and also old adhesive etc wont be protected when a load is applied as it will dent and leave dent in your LVT. Hence you do a full screed Daz on your LVT preps.
