    What about ****ty loop pile Berber especially the felt back crap? And of course versais berber where the gripper sorry smooth edge pulls the loop out of the pile on the riser over time.

    fortunately I dont really fit that much cheap stuff but would still use a concave blade

    I've never even seen a concave blade, let alone used one.

    Neither had I mate until I worked for a shop that done mostly Amtico, I didn't think carpet fitters used them!

    It's just an office up the wall with capping, you're welcome to come along if you've nothing else to do and you don't want payinglol:D

    Be good to put a face to the name as long as you're not too ugly

    I tend to use a hook blade for this , I find a Stanley hook to be the best, they do cost twice as much as others but last a lot longer .
    if that fails always Row runner and join cutter , I always cut into selvedges if the carpet or patten allows ,

    i had an earl start a stairs and landing around my local garage.

    i use concave blade free hand following white lines then seal with ankeweld

    white lines name is 'chain warp' ;)
