Today's job was a 7am - 7pm, I hate hallways Again the quickstep was absolutely spot on to fit, luv it
Jubbly Dan. Has that round corner skirting been kerf cut or is it the pic? Edit, was just wondering if you kerffed the beading as well or let it bend and settle overnight?
liking that a lot Merit matey.. just one Q... on fotos 2-3 i see you fited the riser at the bottom step then the lower section of hallway finished with a scotia, wouldn't you usually fit the lower section then the riser from it so as no scotia...? just wondering... looks spot on, what nosing you use, the QS http://www.directflooring2u.co.uk/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=3419 or the QS Incizo http://www.factory-direct-flooring.co.uk/quick-step-stair-nosing-incizo.html i luvs QS when installing lami, just luvs it....
Cheers mate, I've not seen those nosings, they look better than the incizo bar I used. Il be honest mate, as the floor was running the opposite way to the nosing I had to lock the incizo in to the riser instead. I fitted the last riser before the hallway without thinking as I've not done it that way round before so just had to put scotia round.
Scotia was just cut mate, the skirting was pretty crap anyway and so is scotia. Really I should of undercut that skirting but I've hit so many wires doing that I stopped doing it.
Had exact same problem last year with that, so took a pic and tell all new customers about it, nice job anyway mate
Yeah it's crap, I did say about taking the skirting off but people think their whole house will fall down if you do that. The skirtings probably cheaper than the scotia! They was happy with it tho so all good.
my buddy is a tool maker who's knocked me up a load of 12" x 3" x 1" nylon blocks afew years back, still on the 1st one and they do a splendid job indeed... still got my original handled tapping block which has roughed up quite a bit over the years (Which the handle came off after about 1 month) which i keep with me for sentimentality, you never forget your first tapper eh..?
