hi guys take a look at this, got called to a job ,customer had thrown fitter out ,not surprised. he had tried to fit wilton without gripper because it was a solid floor and couldnt pin into it hehe ,also just butted selvedge up on join he he but the best of the lot are the plates around the tiling hehe .needless to say job was done right.
EDIT (Something is wrong with these smiley icons, I was trying to put the shocked face but these came up?
Can't believe a fitter did that. Looks more like the customer tried a bit of DIY, then his missus came home and gave him a b0ll0cking!
no def a fitter the shop he fitted for called me to put right. honest they were trying to fit wilton with spraycans.
holllleeeeeee..... Please tell me that said 'fitter' *cough!* doesnt work for the shop in question any more? lol
fook don't know much about the dark arts of fitting the fluffy stuff BUT on any level that's a total shocker...!!!
but his a carpet fitter, a carpet fitter is a 'carpet fitter' how can they do it wrong? Quote " a typical customer"
Bloody awful! Problem is guys like this go into old folks houses maybe too afraid to say anything. High time shops started to think of their futures and kick these cowboy types out the door. If lads aren't willing to listen and learn how to do the job properly it's time to move on.
I cried laughing never have i seen such shoddy work, did you see the plates were fitted ONTOP of the underlay? we need regulating
Been to Solihull, fitted the Gordon Scott shoe shop there, used to work with an ex Brintons fitter in London. Can't be that bad in Birmingham
Solihull? thats where i live. looked at a job a few months ago, it was a failed wood floor. While i was there i noticed the carpet on the stairs was a deep pile saxony. It had 5 felt nails holding each tread and riser on. Customer thought this was normal. Im talking nailed straight through the carpet with massive dips. The carpet was also not cut in but rolled under at the edges of the stringer. We wont get started on the wood floor, but if you can visualize the state of the carpet that they think was normal, well can you imagine the state of the wooden floor that they complained about ?
