when you lads who fit lvt regulary, in bathrooms do you get the toilets taken out (when possible), and do you organize it your self with a plumber or do you advise the customer to do so.
Ive never lifted a toilet for lvt work mate, i wouldnt take toilets out for customers thats a plumbers job.
Sorry mate I see what your saying now! I ve never had that conversation with a customer, if the toilets in I just cut round it but if thier having a new bathroom I ask the customer to talk to the bathroom fitter about leaving it out. One bathroom fitter I work for always leaves the pan and sink out for me.
I do suggest it to customers that a plumber takes it out I finish my work then they put back after I have a mate who's a plumber and would do it for £50i prob get about 60% take it out the others I template
depends on the floor tbh. most of them time i fit round them One of my latest ones had an existing laminate floor down, so got a plumber mate in to uplift and re install afterwards
Varies..... on new builds we ask the customer to get the plumber to either leave out and come back or if that doesn't suit the plumber we ask him to jack the sink and w/c up on ply and karndean spacers that we provide him. That way we can remove it ourselves but the levels will be the same as originally installed. If it's an old w/c we tend to leave alone and template, if its reasonably new looking we'll probably just unscrew and remove it ourselves.
I do it regularly as long as the plumbing is in reasonable nic. If I can't do it I price according to template.
i leave toilets in place unless there easy to remove IE no rusty screws.it a bit like doing cap n cove toilets need to be out to create a wet area rather than sealing around the pan so always try and remove if poss .
