Building contractor has put this http://www.constructionproducts.bas...ralWaterproofing/THOROSEAL/Pages/default.aspx down on the floor, phoned fball tec department to see what screed if any I can put on top of this but no joy with them not famillair with the product. Phoned BASF who make it but nobody seems to know and the person who does is not available. Any of you guys seen this before and sreeded on top if so what did you use? Its from Jewsons so can imagine a few building contractors will be using it
Not used it but noticed this Bonds with concrete and masonry, becoming an integral part of the substrate thereby overcoming hydrostatic pressure How does it overcome it and to what degree?
Quick read of data sheet says it can be overlaid with cementious product. Also says if left for more than a few days it should be sanded at time of application to improve adhesion. How many builders will do that ?
This is all I can find on it http://www.buildingsystems.basf.com...ildingsystems/products/items/docs/tsl_tdg.pdf
so its a surface dpm system basically. So you will need a primer that can bond to a impervious product. That being something like 131 or mapei prim grip etc. HOWEVER ! it states this = Note: THOROSEAL® is NOT suitable for retaining water with a low calcium hardness or pH of less than 7.2 In English it wont work if PH is above 7.2%. ............ well pure water / spring water is 7%........... ground water ranges as a average of 6-8% PH .......... correct me if im wrong here, but does that mean it wont withstand pure water let alone ground water?
you really need to speak to tech dept, well someone who knows the answer shame he's "unavailable" in other words they haven't got a clue sounds mickey mouse to me mate.
