Started a job today and got the ply tools out. My exakt saw was very hot though. Does that mean its about to die. I was only doing a cut every 5min.
If you used it in conjunction with the exakt vacuum, as stipulated in the saws warranty, it shouldn't get hot.
It's never got that hot before. It was nearly burning hot. Have had it a good few years too, it is the DIY one as well
9mm ply wasn't it? The small Exakt is spot on for 6mm but I just think cutting 9mm ply is just a bit too hard going for it. With 9mm and thicker I use my DC270 for the big cuts and the small one for notches etc.
The main blade was blunt so I have the just put the black small tenth wood blade in? Could that have something to do with it. Never been hot before.
They have thermal cut-outs and should cut out before any damage is caused. I used to use two of them so to spread the load and save them overheating
What? New tool? Hesitation? It's not like you. What's next? " Think I'll give the holidays a miss this year Lads"
I've got the green one daz had it 3 years now but had to get 110v for site so got the purple professional model with slightly bigger motor and better to use as its not got the stupid plunge release on side just turn on and push down, if you do replace I would recommend the purple one http://www.fredshed.co.uk/exaktprecisionsaw.htm
Any more mad jumpers Andy. My mate had one on in the pub which was good then I showed everyone yours lol. My mate said I'm getting one. Knowing him it will be at Easter.
The purple one should have the release lever as it's an EU safety requirement that is fairly new, so the older ones won't have it but all the new ones will.
