I did a bathroom about 6 months ago inc ply.

The vinyl was quite thin and a little bumpy so I put some double sided tape in some areas but about 6 weeks later they called me back because it was bumpy again.

When I went back I put some more tape down and re sealed and it was fine, I've just had another phone call from them saying its gone bumpy again.

I'm thinking If I can get it up without damaging it ill stick it down

What would you guys do with this ?

I always full stick domestic vinyl , no matter how big or small the area. F46 flat trowel , just enough to hold it , but if it ever needs to be uplifted and replaced it should come up fairly easy and no grin through.

I mostly tape the really small ones, F46 larger ones with a roller, trowel for even larger areas.

Contact spray does a pretty good job.

I used to stick down all vinyls in domestics locations as that was the company's policy I worked for. Most vinyl floor coverings manufactures claim that all vinyl in domestic locations should be stuck down if the total floor area exceeds 15 m2. Since working for myself in the last 11 years I have always used spray adhesive to the perimeter, including around bog and basin and in front of doorway followed by double sided tape. I have never had a comeback on this method as long as you push out the vinyl from the centre in all directions towards the perimeter. Only come backs I have had are where leaks have formed normally from the bath pipes and come under the bath panel. If full stick down method was used I.e f44 or similar this could of helped prevent the problem. Hope this helps you guys as we all hate returning to job
    Unnecessarily.

Not sure I think it will be around the outside as it was before.

I used tape around the outside so not sure why its happened.

I'm going Saturday morning and ill stick it with f44 or 45

Just noticed few of you said f46, I only use 46 for vinyl tiles and mainly use 45 for sheet vinyl any advantage with 46 and sheet vinyl ?

46 is pressure sensitive, easier to pull up when changing. I prefer it and use it on most on my vinyl installs.

Easier to pull up :-/ every time I've pulled something up where 46 was used it was far from easy if getting it up easily was a priority wouldn't using a tackifier be best ?

Loose lay it, bit of silicone round the edge to hold it in place

They're the same thing, but you have to let it go off before you lay into it, otherwise it acts like glue, hence your trouble getting it up.

Merit, was that you I saw in a Quickstep e-mail/newsletter?
