Only used it twice, fed up of it taking space in my toolbox. Item number 290869369785 on the Bay if anyone's interested.
Just had a look, not that I want one, would use it less than Sidnee, Ps Don't put "Power Stretcher" in the search box of e-bay
great tool for creasing carpet on and fitting stairs. Crap tool for tucking carpet, the reason why most purchase it not knowing actually how to use it.
I use mine all the time, mainly for creasing but also for tucking. Would agree about the handle though....not very ergonomic !
Stretch pin on with bolster cut tuck in! no need! But there again with the state off modern gripper you could just curse at it instead of the cr@p gripper that is on the market, when i started gripper was gripper and men were men!
Mmmm cold weather carpet stiff as a board .....where's that speed Catt !! Agree on the gripper check out the diamond gripper thread
Mmmm cold weather i will use speedcat what's wrong or different about pinning it on with your bolster whilst stretching? It is just a natural action to me.(if it is cold sadly you will have to go back no fault of your own and the amount of houses i go into with no heating on cos they r stingy) When I first started gripper was nearly an inch wide with twice the density of pins sadly no more. I will deffo check out diamond grip thanks for the heads up! I tend to use spray adhesive on every job cause the gripper is sh*t and hate to go back to a job
At the risk of getting shouted at!! I cut, stretch, put on gripper with fingers and thumbs, then hold down with fingers whilst tucking, may not now be the "right" way to do it, but hey, it works for me, last re-stretch 2008 because the customer uplifted to hide a tv cable.
Tend to stretch pin with bolster tuck with fingers and thumbs to hold in place each to there own you must b fitting some good stuff Steve with no rems displayed stacked, or four clips on the bars!
