Stretch, roll onto pins and crease with speedcat, trim with trimmer or knife , tuck with speedcatt, bolster or lino knife. Tools i use vary on each job according to the carpet or my mood but the procedure is essentially the same. If its flat, tight and fits nicely on the perimiter who cares what tools we use.
The correct method is to rub along and crease carpet onto pins take carpet back off pins stretch carpet back up onto pins run along with speed cat again and fit (nicf way)
Thats because you crease on to start with without stretching, so that when you do stretch it its already creased and easier to hook on.......does that make sense
To be honest , No it does not make sense to me because the crease will not be in the right place once the carpet is stretched.
Ha ha no worries. My only issue is you called your way or the NICF way the 'correct' way. No hassle but I will continue to fit the way I do until am shown or find a better way. Cheers Ray
Lol , whatever works for you ! the method I mentioned was from the nicf and that was the method using the speed Catt , not fitting in general
I don't get it either. I kick it on and crease as I go with the stair tool. Then cut. Then stretch and tuck. Then go round with an awl. Then hoover.
Expensive bit of kit that speedcat. I just hook the carpet in first if it won't hold on the gripper. Don't normally have that problem now as I always use golden gripper, so much easier to fit on.
