I have cold welded flat areas......brilliant stuff but can you cold weld external and internal corners, as on a coved up vinyl install ?

I have seen it done, buy why would you cold weld, rather than hot weld ?

Couldn't you use Altro mastic instead. I did that on a job a while ago behind the toilet as couldn't get the welder in.

yes you can. But i would recommend hot welding on all commercial. I would only cold weld domestic sheet and as domestic sheet would very rarely be coved it would be rare to cold weld it. But like i say it can be done.

to cut a long story short , I had a guy doing my coved up jobs , but wasn't over impressed when I saw the last job and it turns out he wasn't welding the corners , I have a job coming up next week in a dental practise which is contract vinyl not safety flooring , and was wondering if I could cold weld , I have welder but its a cheaper Steinel I bought years ago which is fine for the flat areas but I seem to struggle on the corners , the nozzle on the end is not as up turned as the leister and you struggle to get the angle plus never really seemed to master it
hence why I subbed it out !
