hi all I am about to fit click fit engineered wood in the hall when my local flooring shop told me about solid oak click flooring .cant find any reviews on line has any one used it .is it any good cheers alan
ditto.. stear clear myself mate, would advise likewise... SOLID - fully bond or nail down ENG. - fully bond, nail, float, liquid batten
Solid oak with click / lock systems can be floated when used in conjunction with self adhesive underlay systems HOWEVER, there is nothing to retain the floor from changes in moisture in the surrounding area. Because of this it will move around a lot and faster than any bonded solid flooring. Expansion gaps need to allow for extra movement etc. As above tho, always glue down solids. It just poor practice to float them.
Engineered all the way. There are a thousand reasons why to use an engineered and a thousand reasons why not to use a solid. thinking of starting a petition to ban solid wood flooring...
Hey man, I have had positive experiences with engineered hardwood flooring and it's perfect if you are floating the floor. To be honest I haven't found any reviews ... just telling you from my own experience. Have you tried getting a free advice from a flooring company?
