How do you abrade quarry tiles to create a key for a wsm without making a right mess. What tools would you use, or do you think 1200 pro first then wsm then 300? thoughts please.
You can't put 300 over 1200 ? 300 is to strong nearly double the compression strength of 1200 so it would crack like hell & could pull off the floor ! If you guns use 1200 first then best use the same on top or a screed with the same compression strength but can't see the point of buying 2 different screeds. Use a degreaser & screed over them with 1200 or NA if they are sound or rip them up & start from scratch ?
cant 300 over 1200 pro, different strengths 300hd is off the top of me bonce circa 30nmm whereas 1200pro circa is 18nmm, the 300 would sheer straight off
ok, I get that but I need to put in a dpm (wsm) as aquant is reading in the red. Spoke to f ball and they said abrade tiles to create key then dpm tiles and screed over the top. You can use 300 over an epoxy which is over say green bag or 1200 i'm sure. back to original comment, how would you abrade tiles?
There well bonded and level with a timber floor, karndean over both areas. will probably degrease and NA it. DPM then NA it again, 9mm sp101 over timber. thanks fellas.
Have you got a buffer/rotary machine ? You could use a grinding head or a copper disc ? But I'd defo wear goggle it'll make a right dusty mess !
I'm just on with a job like this. Quarry tiles in one area and then concrete in the rest. Tiles were firm and moisture reading not high. Used Ardex products (thanks for the help and advice Daz) and abraded the tiles with a Refina grinder and vacuum - not much dust. Ardex NA, dpm 1c then another coat of Ardex NA.
Got a massive prep next week. About 200m2. Granno, screed dpm. Going to give f.ball system a try instead of ardex. Stopgap 1200 F77 dpm Stopgap 1200 Cost wise cheaper then ardex.
I'm using Fast track 30 on Monday ! First time so I hope its good coz the jobs an hours drive & the job is tiny so don't want to travel twice !
Looks good ! I'm only using it on 6m2 Don't think I'd like to try it on out big think your near the max at 25m2 ? Winter maybe more ?
