    No not at all

Major shortage of carpet fitters ( called carpet Layers here ) and general floor layers. Most of the ones here are near retirement too.

Also can and do earn twice what has been said here. Most in qld earn more than $110,000 a year.

Yeah they are some big money doing flooring in Aus.
Don't quite know if that's right about £5000 a week but I know plenty of layers that earn $3000 to $4000 a week. And we are talking about Aussies that really don't work the hardest.

The main difference between Australia and uk is in Australia you work to live where as in the uk you get the feeling you live to work.

Just a few facts about Australia compared to the uk. You have to forget exchange rate and just on money.

The average wage in Australia is $65,000 a year the average wage in the uk is £25,000

The income tax in both places is about the same

In the uk £25,000 a year wage gives you about £1500 a month in your bank.
In Australia $65,000 gives you $4000 in your bank a month.

So in figure you earn more than twice as much in Australia to the uk.

But petrol on Australia is $1.50 a ltr so in comparison to what you earn in Australia to uk it is half the price of the uk.

This is the same with a lot of other stuff.

I live in Qld. I don't have heating , don't need it. So I only have an electric bill which is only for cooking and lights.
My rates are $2100 a year , electric bill $75 a quarter ( I have solar and it works here ) no gas so no bill.
I live in Brisbane in a large house on half an acre with a large 7m by 7m garage and pool. Value of it is $450,000 sounds a lot to you but not when you take into account what we earn. I left the uk and sold a house in Southampton that was a two up two down and the house and garden was the size of my pool area in my house here.

One major thing difference Is you have a lot more disposable income in australia compared to the uk.

what training centres do you have there?

Are you all big on training or do you just get training where needed? I know your equivalent to the U.K NVQ system is much higher quality wise.
