Can any1 recommend a system to use when you want to install engineered wood in flats? I would rather bond it down unless its a floated chipboard floor. Needs some sort of acoustic rating
I've used the acoustic slotted mat system before but think that the cm danskin (?) stuff is better rated
I don`t know too much about wood, so could be talking out of my arse here. We have done loads of acoustic work, but never with wood flooring. We normally use Regupol, and have used there 5mm product 4515 (rubber and cork) loads of times. We stick the product down, and then stick vinyl to it. I know it works, because we have had buildings fail the sound test, then test again after the work was completed. It`s always passed, so might be worth a look. I know of some equivalent alternatives as well
really depends what rating & performance you need to achieve matey... i've used both the Sika acou-bond system & the V4 Wakol equivalent many many times & it does what it says on the tin, easy system to use to with the Wakol MS 265 sausages. if you need better acoustic performance then deffo go for the CMS Danskin (LINK BELOW) soundlay plus, fill, caulk any gaps, joints before you crack on& then fully bond the underlay matt & away you go... not the cheapest solution BUT performance wise I was MEGA impressed with it... send ya some pics if ya want..? http://www.cmsdanskin.co.uk/general...loors/overlay-acoustic-flooring/#.UpufQtJdUuc
I've used the regupol before so I will probably go with that. What do you guys stick it down with? Think I used f3 last time I did it.
When do you need it? If towards the end of jan could Charlie take it to Birmingham? I could bring it home, Merrits 10mins from me
I would have to buy him a roofrack, Ha, his boot is loaded with subs, amps and stuff. This was him doing some offroading recently. An alleged deer ran out on him. It was dressed in a santa`s outfit too !
Try the Rewmar Aquostic mat and their MS650 adhesive. It will give you a 19db sound reduction and is ideal for what you are doing, and it's well priced
