My local CFS let me put tubes in their stack when I collect stuff. Result Can't get a skip at home - drives to narrow, Dan will vouch for that
See if the drivers will take them back. They used to get a quid each for them ! My skips on permanent hire, always there, just phone when its need to be emptied.
Lucky for me, I use the skips the people I sub to use. Yeah.. They moan, but I moan how I haven't put my money up for years. They seem to shut up then!!!!!
I have a couple of wheelie bins. Think i pay £12 a empty including rent . I used to do skips but the wheelie bin is loads cheaper. I think a midi skip costs around £120 is about the same as 4 wheelie bins. Only issue is your on contract so the bin gets emptied regardless of if it has rubbish in or not. The good side is a bunch of lads earning peanuts turns up to empty bin so if you have a little extra that dont fit in bin they are normally happy to take it all if you offer them a cup of tea.
The Mercado drivers used to get 50p for every tube returned - then it was reduced to 30p so now they don't bother. I just leave them out in the rain until they get soggy then walk them flat and fold them up. Not as easy with the plastic ones though!
I tell people i dont have a waste transfer licence but i can provide a skip at cost .Then tell them the cost & tell them it costs them nothing to dispose at the council tip. They seem to always enjoy those day trips to the dump after that.
I don't get tubes in Headlam carpets, (at my request,) cfs are only a couple of miles away from me so I wait until i've got a van load then go and dump in their skillet.
