    Hi all

Got a message a week ago, can u give me a price to fit these s/a planks. Said needed to come measure etc, work out what sub floor prep needed, and how much flooring they actually needed. (Did advise them that cheap homebase s/a planks where sh*te and that I didn't recommend them) but as they are £6 m2 that was all the customer was seeing. Then I get another message, how quick can u fit, along with some badly drawn plans where the areas where measured in inches.?! Again said I needed to come measure up, but should imagine I could squeeze it in later end of next week. No, they wanted it done before Monday as they have a tenant moving in! Now, as they people I'd worked for before couple of times I thought I'd help out, so I rearanged all my weekend jobs, and said I needed to get in there to measure by Thursday latest, so can place order with suppliers, for Friday arrival. 4:30pm yesterday they finally contact me, and say their 'friend' says they can lay the planks straight to bare concrete, and just to PVA for extra stick! So I told them that wasn't acceptable etc etc, and advised that with the rough measurements I'd need at least 8 units depending on if the subfloor was in good nick. Then it was ' you said you could.....' No I said I needed to measure up. So after telling them how much 8 units of screed was, they say they get back to me. And then I wake to a text this morning, 'thanks for all your advice, but we'Re not gonna need you to measure up/do the the floor'

Pfft love cheap ass time wasters! When is everyone going to stop thinking coz they can buy cheap DIY flooring, they they are flooring installers! ****es me off.

    Rant over, aaaand breath lol

They will probably leave all the cuts and ask you to come and do them!
You don't need 46 for that stuff...have you ever uplifted it? It's like tackifier but 10 times stronger.

i have uplifted it with different results. Some come up easy some don't!! That's why I'd still 46 it as I don't know what adhesive theyve used.

They didn't want sub floor prep, that's the biggest problem. No screed, just straight to bare concrete floor. So as far as I'm concerned, if it fails and starts to lift, they can pay me double to uplift it, then double to re lay a decent lvt plank, after its been prepped with a decent screed.

I wouldnt even bother going back to them WHEN they do text/ring you. We all need to earn a living yes but unless you are desperate then tell them to jog on. Just my opinion.
