    Hi all

been visiting this forum over the last few weeks and been trying to dig around for some info on the Karndean Van Gough today, in particular the Bracken. Really like the look of it and feel

What is the general thoughts for the Karndean range. I am only having the Hallway done which is less the 10Sqm and have a 3 year old, so expecting havoc on the flooring....I believe the flooring is on concrete so no ply is required, from my understanding..

is there any alternatives to the Karndean range. Was also looking at the QuickStep range and have noted a few I like from my local flooring shop

One of the reasons why I joined the forum was to use the 'find a fitter' tool but for some reason not working for me and cannot locate a fitter for Derby...

    any help would be appreciated.

Karndean Van Gogh is a great range. One of my favourites in the Karndean range. Hard wearing an a nice texture so any light scratches won't show up much.

With your subfloor being concrete then a moisture text might need to be taken and a screeding compound will need to be laid.

Agree with Daz on the van gogh range. Definitely the best in the Karndean range for wood effect. Alternative lvts would be Distinctive flooring and luvanto. Both have websites where you could take a look. I have a pic of the Bracken down. I'll have a look to see if I can find it.

As the guys have said fantastic range, I run every range they do and Van Gogh is the biggest volume seller for me by far!! Bracken looks very smart down but personally I prefer the Burnt Ginger. If you have look at my prolfile there's a photo of a Burnt Ginger floor I fitted a few weeks ago. Just that wee bit cosier to look at. I fitted the original hall floor donkeys years ago and they have now extended through a wall and blended the flooring together. They have quite a few big dogs and as yet I havent had to replace any damaged ones. :)

Personally I would avoid laminate in the hallway and go for a decent bit of lvt, when buying an lvt I'd advise you to ensure it has a 4 sided bevel to give that 'individual plank' look to ensure your floor looks more realistic etc.

    Hi all

Thanks for the very quick responses and information

Seems Van Gogh range is very much liked here, which is great as it feels and looks like great quality which is always key..

Understand the points on the shininess. Looked ok in the showroom but fitter is bringing some samples tomorrow and looking at the flooring tomorrow..

Jambo - will check your profile now. I actually also noted the burnt ginger flooring but for some reason was just pulled to the bracken... I think I will go have a look at it again tomorrow...

Dannyboy - would be great if you could find that pic but now problems if you can't pal

    Cheers guys...
